Pep Guardiola has admitted feeling "shame" after an exchange with a camera operator in the wake of Manchester City's loss at Newcastle this past weekend.

At full time, an emotional Guardiola stepped onto the field and engaged in intense talks with match official Sam Barrott and Magpies midfielder Bruno Guimarães, and also touched the broadcast crew's equipment.

"I apologised," Guardiola stated. "I'm humiliated, regretful, when I see it. It's not acceptable. I immediately apologized to the cameraman. That's just me. With a thousand matches under my belt I'm far from perfect, errors happen."

He wouldn't mind should a rival coach spoke to his players right after the final whistle. "No - as long as it's respectful as I do, it's fine," he noted, mentioning the referee. "The referee was involved for 95 minutes, 98 minutes, constantly. My God, very much so."

Debatable Calls

The team felt aggrieved that the officials denied a spot-kick on a Schär tackle against Foden, while they also questioned if Guimarães was offside when Harvey Barnes scored the decisive strike. Subsequent images show he was level.
