Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike shortly after a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said such groups were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I am serious. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment tonight and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to every interested learner.”
